Konner's Christening
02-13-2005, 9:24 p.m.

Today was our nephew Konner's Christening. Everything was beautiful. He looked so adorable in his outfit, and the cermony was very sweet. He is such a good baby, and never cried... just smiled and laughed the whole time. He was the only baby being baptized, so it was really informal, which was so nice too, because the whole family got to just stand around, up close and personal instead of watching from the pews. The kids all loved that and were really well behaved.

They had a party for him at a family-favorite restaurant afterwards, which was nice, and again, the kids were so well behaved. They love the restaurant and there are some video games up front there, so they had plenty to keep them busy. Nicole's family was the first to leave, so we all just went back to Stephen's mom and dad's and just hung out. John had brought some tapes of the kids recent activities (Sarah was in a talent show and Jonathon's basketball game) so we watch that and just hung out. My MIL and I talked alot about Vegas, which is always fun to do too. The day went by way to fast, as always, but we stayed a lot longer than we planned on. It is so nice having family that we love. I am so blessed. We will see everyone again tomorrow too, as we are having dinner at Gerald and Michelle's for Jake's birthday (oh and today is Jen's litlte girl, Nicole's birthday - Happy Birthday Red), and then Tuesday is Vegas.... wow.. I am so excited.

And now some pictures....

And a picture of the card I made for him, because it turned out so cute and everyone loved it so much...

I also did another card for him, with a little boutineer that I made for him. It was so sweet and it made everyone cry... I was a little nervous about giving it to them, I didn't know if they would like it.. but they did, and that made it really worth it. Everyone else said that they would have liked to have had something like it for their kids, too bad I didn't find it 15 years ago.. hehe. The poem with it said...

A flower for his Christening Day Pinned carefully on his chest, Will hold a sacred memory of The day that he was blessed. Then lovingly preserve it, Softly tuck this flower away, To bring a smile back to your heart As you think upon this day.

Then when the months have turned to years A girl may come his way, That you'll want to give this flower to Upon their wedding day.

That "something old and something new" That every bride must carry, Include this flower in her bouquet On the day that they will marry.

Before her flowers are tossed in the air, Remove this special one, To adorn another tiny chest Should they also have a son.
