Awesome View...

October 29, 2001

So I've been threatening to write about my Vegas Vacation. I really can't believe that I haven't yet. I mean it was awesome and I loved every minute of it. The problem is that so many people have asked about it, and after telling it and telling it over and over again, I really don't feel like telling it again, even just to write about it. Maybe I should have written first, and then passed it out, LOL. Cory and Jen suggested doing a report on it My Vegas Vacation, by Vicki, giggle. Maybe they had a good point. I would like to go back and read again about how wonderful a time I had though, so I guess I am just going to have to write it here.

Friday (the Friday we left, obviously) morning we got up early early early Okay, so we went to bed late too, and really only had about 3 hours of sleep, and that's being generous. Still, I was excited so getting up really was no problem. Stephen is not quite the riser that I am though, so he really wasn't as chipper. We got to his mom and dad's by 5:00 am (as they told us to do) and they were still in bed. Boy Stephen wasn't so happy then giggle, but he got over it. Especially since he got to lay on the couch and doze for a while. His mom started laughing, saying he is so much like her. Stephen's aunt and cousin got there around 5:45, and we were off. The trip to Vegas was nice, the airport security was wonderful, and I felt very safe getting onto the plane. The flight itself was smooth, and we got there in no time at all. It really flew by (ha ha), with Stephen and I talking and laughing the whole way. Our first glimpse of Vegas was wonderful. Wow, everything is so BIG.

We took a shuttle to the hotel, and when we got there, our rooms were not ready yet (it was only 10:00 am when we arrived there), so we had to wait for a few hours. It was no problem, since we just had them hold on to our luggage and we went off to check everything out. First we had lunch together, and then we explored the casino. It was so much fun. I loved everything about it it was just so, alive I guess that is the word. We stayed at Harrah's and it was just so beautiful. Really, looking at the pictures of it on the internet did it no justice it was every bit as beautiful as the others. After we were able to get into our room, we went up and unpacked, and spent a little time alone . Then we headed back down to the casino to gamble some. Stephen won about 350.00 that night, and after that we went over to the sports bar and just hung out for a while. We had some awesome drinks and some snacks and placed our bets on TN and the Bears. Stephen's sister and cousin were with us, and then Stephen's parents came over too, and we just sat and talked and ate and laughed and had a great time. It was getting pretty late by then (where does the time go), but that didn't stop us. Stephen, Delores and I decided to go play some roulette, but went to check out the casino next door, where they had 25 cent and 50 cent roulette.. hehe. Okay, I lost that night, but that was okay, I had a great time. I was just having so much fun looking around and seeing all the lights and the wonderful things there were to see. We finally made it back to the room, but I was still too excited to sleep and we sat and looked out the window at the awesome view from our room. It really was beautiful.

Saturday morning, we got up early (didn't want to waste any time) and Stephen and I had breakfast with Delores and Vocky. Then they went back to the hotel, and we decided to walk across the street to Caesars PalaceWOW. It was sooooo beautiful. Everything was so roman, LOL.. is that a way to describe it? We played in the casino for a while, and then decided to walk around and check things out. They have this mall there in the hotel and omg, it was just so awesome. The ceilings were so high up and rounded, and painted to look like the sky. It really was wonderful.. there were statues and fountains everywhere, it was just such a great place so much to see and look at. We took some pictures and shopped a few stores, and then stopped to get some souvenirs. It started getting to be a little late (around noon) so we headed back to Harrah's and our room. We still had 2 hours before we had to leave for the wedding, so we laid around and watched some of the TN game (They won, woo hoo), and looked out the window some more at the awesome view. Everyone was telling me how pretty Vegas could be, but it's really nothing like I imagined I mean, it was, but it was different too. It wasn't as cheezy as I pictured it to be. These hotels were just so beautiful, inside and out. Down to the tiniest detail. It really was amazing
