My Little Delinquents ...

January 17, 2002

I am sitting here cracking up, after getting the latest from Sherry. Seems my little monsters have been getting into somewhat of a mess lately. I don't know if I wrote about Chrissy's trouble last week, and how she was failing math due to the fact that she wasn't turning in assignments, but she was pretty upset that she lost her priveledges to take Jazz classes for a while. Turns out, that Math isn't the only class she was failing, but she failed to let anyone know that as well. Seems her grades have come down in quite a few courses, and she says that it's because she doesn't have time to do her homework... cause she types slow... or because of a million little excuses she came up with. The fact of the matter is, she hasn't been doing her homework, and she is paying the price for it now. Catching up is no fun once you are so behind, but she has to learn that the hard way. Now here is the funny part.. Seems that mine has decided to be just like her big sister. This is the kid who is lucky she can write her own name, and now she has gotten caught forging her mother's! LMAO.. And since she doesn't know how to spell her mom's last name (since her's is different since Chuck hasn't adopted them yet), she only signed her mom's first name and left it at that. There is a funny part in here, I swear. Chuck realized that June hadn't done all her homework (they still check her homework every night, something they really should start doing with Chrissy perhaps), and saw that Sherry signed her homework sheet. Well he was pissed that Sherry signed it without checking to see if she really did it and proceeded to start screaming at her. They got into a huge fight about it, and June just kinda slinked off to bed in the process. It took them a few hours to make up from said fight, but as they sat and watched TV while the kids were sleeping, Sherry finally realized... "wait a minute, I worked late the night before, and got home after the kids were in bed... I never signed June's homework".... and they went to go look at the sheet. Yup, upon closer inspection it was totally obvious that June signed it herself, the little cute brat, giggle. I can't believe that they didn't figure that out from the get-go, but they had a big laugh about it.

They left a piece of paper on the table for June the next morning, with Sherry's name on it, and lines underneath to practice.. that is how they let her know she was busted...June didn't try to hide the fact that she did it either... she just said, well Mom was at work, and I needed it signed, LOL. She erased it and asked her mom to sign it, and thought she was off the hook.. think again little one, think again.

As for the big one... well, losing Jazz was a pretty big punishment, and so they are going to let it stand at that for now, but they are going to keep an eye on her work and if this continues, guess who gets to go back into the special program where the teachers write out their homework and they have to have it signed??? She was in that last year, and didn't like it because she said it was embarrasing. Obviously, she didn't remember that, because once she got off it, she was quick to get herself back into that situation. Those who do not learn from history tend to repeat it.

Good thing I love those two... I tell ya...
