Looking Forward to the Weekend...

March 9, 2001

TGIF!!! That's all I have to say. This week totally feels like it has lasted for a month, at least. I am feeling pretty good today though, my spirits are better than they have been all week, and I am really looking forward to the weekend.

We are leaving work at 2:00 today, so that we can run a few errands, go to the bank, and that kind of thing, and then we are going to pick up Chrissy and June from school. They love it when we come to get them early like that. It's a treat for all of us. I am glad that they are coming for the weekend, it's exactly what I need to get my mind off of all the other stuff and to cheer me up. Hard to stay down when they are around. Tonight we will probably just play games with them. I love letting June win when we play games, she does this cute happy dance when she wins and it always cracks me up. It is mostly fun cause she does it alot even when she loses. Chrissy hates to lose soooo much... she is soooo competitive.

Tomorrow is our special movie/snack day. That's what we call it. We have these days once every few months or so and the girls LOVE them so much. In the morning, we all go shopping together and everyone gets to pick out whatever snacks they want (we usually end up with tons of junk)... and then we go and rent a long movie, or watch a series of movies... like all 4 Star Wars movies or something. Chrissy wants to see Stephen King's "Storm of the Century" this time, and since I am the only one who has seen it already, I think we are going to let her pick that one. I think it is like a 6 hour movie, so that's not bad. In fact, the last few times, we had 8 hour movies, and that was just perfect. Then the whole afternoon/evening, we just watch our movies and pig out on all of our snacks. It is the one day that we don't say to them... "hey, you've had too much candy, or ice cream or whatever", and just let them get away with it. The only rules are.. they have to eat a good breakfast first, and they have to promise to stop snacking long enough to eat something good for dinner. You would think that with all the snacks that they would give us problems about eating dinner, but nope, they don't want to ruin these days, so they are good about it. They never even eat too much junk that they get sick... and we usually pick things like cheese and crackers and stuff too, so it's not just candy and ice cream. June likes to pick things like pizza rolls and stuff as one of her snacks too, so at least she is eating food in between all the junk. Sound like fun? It is....

Sunday is Stephen's last basketball game for the season. He still plays for most of the year, but this is the last official game. We are going to go to watch him, and probably videotape it and stuff. He likes when we go to the games, and cheer him on. Should be fun... yay, a fun weekend!
